About The Conference
ELC-E is an international gathering of open source software developers for embedded systems. The conference will be held October 27 & 28 , 2010 in Cambridge, UK and will be co-located with the GStreamer Conference 2010.
Through the variety of sessions, Bofs, tutorials, technical showcases and evening reception we will exchange knowledge of open source software technologies. Come join us and be inspired by technical ideas on the evolution of Linux and related software for embedded systems, and at the same time be connected with your counterparts in this industry.
ELC-E is unique in that it draws many core developers from around the world who are enthusiastic about building Linux-based software systems for small footprint environments. Most of these developers are engaged in development projects of Linux embedded products. At ELC-E you will experience the cutting edge of Linux evolution.
CELF is pleased to have Ralf Baechle and Ari Rauch as ELC-E keynote speakers this year.
Ralf Baechle, Founder of the Linux/MIPS Project and maintainer of the MIPS architecture subsystem will present "Embedded Linux - The State of the Nation"
Ari Rauch, R&D manager for Texas Instruments OMAP will present "The Dynamic Role of Open Linux Architectures in Today's Mobile Landscape"
Furthermore, we have many interesting talks, short sessions and BoFs from both community and industry speakers including Armijn Hemel, Grant Likely, Harald Welte, Philippe Robin, Tim Bird, and Wookey. As always, we close off with an exciting, interactive, and entertaining closing game with great prizes to win. Don't miss the social event on Wednesday night, dinner in a traditional Cambridge setting.
Tutorial Day, October 26, 2010
This year we will be offering two separate tutorial sessions on October 26th. These tutorials run the day before the ELC-E conference, so you do not have to miss a single talk of our conference. Chris Simmonds will be leading workshops on the topics "The Embedded Linux Quick Start Guide" and "What Else Can You Do With Android?" For more information, please visit the Tutorial page.

Who Should Join?
Anyone interested in embedded system software technologies are encouraged to join us at the ELC-E. Not only the actual developers but also the managers and media will find many advancements being discussed fur the future of the software design.
What is the CE Linux Forum?
The main sponsor of ELC is the CE Linux Forum (CELF). Each year two conferences are organized. In Spring, ELC - CELF's main international event - is organized in the USA. In Autumn, ELC Europe is held targeting a European audience.
CE Linux Forum is an international open source software development community established in 2003. It is a forum of like-minded software engineers dedicated to the development and enhancement of Linux-based embedded devices through the irreplaceable resource of shared knowledge. These engineers bring their ideas and finest skills to such missions as decreasing system size, startup/shutdown time, and power consumption; improving compatibility to various CPU architectures, and developing middleware.
